Tail Update

Here is a quick detail shot of a piece of my new tail project. It still has a long way to go, but progress is definitely being made! I'm really excited about it! The green dots have dried a lot darker and sparklier than you see here which is good. I'll upload more as I go!

Mermaid Update!

Well it's been a while since I've posted! I know... bad mermaid... The human side of my life has been keeping me really busy at the moment and I haven't had much time to do anything for my mer-self.

So let me give you guys the update!

I've been making some good progress on my latest tail which is going to be very different from my last two tails in that this will be the first tail I make with 3D scales. I have never done anything like this, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed that this turns out right. Ha ha! It's all an adventure and a learning experience and so far I've been having lots of fun with it!

Now that I've started painting, you can definitely expect me to be moving a little faster with the updates!

Also! I'd like to take a sec to thank all of you out there for all the likes, favourites and comments! Thanks to you guys I have now reached over 84,000 views on YouTube and over 100 likes on Facebook! Woo! I love you guys! You make all this worth while!

AND! Before I totally forget! If you haven't checked out Pearson Report then you totally should since the A-Z Challenge has started accepting entries and it's going to be HUGE! My Mum is co-hosting it this year and she's doing an awesome job! I'll be entering it this year with my own personal design blog (from my human side haha) and I encourage all you bloggers out there to check it out!!

Mermaid Tales

So I received a pretty awesome email yesterday after work and it was from Jariel over at MermaidTales.net. They would like to add me to their list of professional mermaids!

I picked out a picture and replied, so you might see me appear there over the next couple of days! Pretty cool eh? Woo!

I've also been hanging out at the MerNetwork again lately. Just checking things out and seeing what's new with all of you other mers out there.

Still seeing a bit of drama floating around, but it doesn't seem as bad as it was before I left. It's nice to see all the projects everyone is working on and catch up with some friends!

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful December so far. I can't believe how the time is flying by! Before you know it we'll be in 2012!! Ah!

Mermaid Updates!

Sorry I haven't been keep this blog too active and updated lately, but I've been so busy with other things and since this is a bit of an "off" season for us mers it can be hard to find things to post! Ha ha!

On that note though, my friend Mermaid Kim and I have been working really hard at the pool and are finally getting ready to make our new tails! We will be making them totally different than the tails I've been making so far. These will have 3D scales and loads more detail and... ZIPPERS! HA HA! If you have ever seen me at the pool trying to wiggle into and out of my tail, you will understand exactly why I am so excited about this...

Lately we've been doing a lot of work on various tricks. I personally have been doing a lot to improve my moves upside down while spinning and going in and out with back flips. Mermaid Kim has been making some serious progress on her bubble rings and back flips! I am so excited to start working on our next video which will also be my first tail's (my green and blue one with the fringe) last time in the pool since it is going to be retired.

I will be swimming tonight, possibly in my tail but I'm not sure about that yet. I'm still debating what I really want to work on tonight and that will be the deciding factor as to whether or not I sport my tail.

A big thanks to everyone who has been posting comments, watching my videos and liking my facebook page! You guys are awesome! I also know there are a few of you still waiting for replies from me on YouTube messages/comments and through a few emails. I haven't forgotten you guys! I will do my best to get back to you all over the next few days! I hate to leave things unanswered, but life has been keeping me a little too busy lately!
